ANY UNDERPERFORMANCE SPEED CLAIMS/OVER CONSUMPTION TO BE CALCULATED ONLY FOR THE SPECIFIC PERIODS OF “GOOD WEATHER”AS DEFINED UNDER THIS CHARTER PARTY,AND NOT TO BEEXTENDED/EXTRAPOLATED TO THE ENTIRETY OF THE VOYAGE(SEA PASSAGE).AND EXLUDING CANALS,SHALLOW/RESTRICTED/TIDE AFFECTED WATERS AND DUE TO REASONS OF SAFETY,OR POOR VISIBILITY ETC.

IT’S AGREED THAT ANY SAVING IN CONSUMPTION TO BE OFF-SET AGAINST ANY REDUCTION IN SPEED OR VICE VERSA AND THAT ANY SAVING IN IFO CONSUMPTION SHALL BE OFF-SET AGAINST ANY INCREASED CONSUMPTION OF MDO/MGO OR VICE VERSA.ANY PEROIDS OF REDUCED SPEED FOR SAFETY PURPOSES WHEN STEAMING OR MANEUVERING IN CONFINED OR CONGESTED WATERS ARE NOT TO BE CONSIDERED IN THE CALCULATION OF GOOD WEATHER PERFORMANCE SPEED AND ASSOCIATED VESSEL PERFORMANCE.
VSL HAS THE LIBERTY TO BURN MDO DURING HARBOR STEAMING AND NAVIGATING IN SHALLOW / NARROW WATERS / CHANNELS ETC AN ALTERNATIVE LOW MAIN ENGINE REVS ECO SPEED WHEREBY VSL IS STEAMING ABT 22 HOURS AT ECO SPEED REDUCED MAIN ENGINE REVS AND WITH 2 OR 3 HOURS PER DAY AT FULL MCR AS REQUIRED FOR MAIN ENGINE MAINTENANCE/PERFORMANCE IS AT MASTER'S DISCRETION. FOR LADEN VOYAGES, STRICTLY WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO OWNERS' OBLIGATIONS AND DUTIES UNDER BILLS OF LADING TO PROCEED WITH DUE DISPATCH AND PROVIDED THAT PROCEEDING AT ECO SERVICE SPEED WILL NOT PREJUDICE VESSEL'S PANDI COVER AND WILL BE IN LINE *** CHARTERERS WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS.
